Thrikkunnathu Seminary Church Festival Processsion 2018 [VIDEO]

The Thrikkunnathu St. Mary's Orthodox Seminary Church in Aluva celebrated festival on January 25 and 26th 2018 and witnessed a large gathering of believers. Here are the videos of the procession (Raasa) that took place around Thrikkunnathu Seminary premises marking the end of the festival celebrations. Thrikkunnathu Seminary Church Feast 2018



The Thrikkunnathu St. Mary's Orthodox Church in Aluva celebrated its annual festival on January 25 and 26th 2018 after the Church and Seminary property was given to the Malankara Orthodox Church through the High Court verdict. Thousands of believers gathered during the occassion to celebrate the common festival related to the memory of bishops Kadavil Paulose Mar Athanasius, Saint Paulose Mar Athanasius, Mor Gregorios Geevarghese Vayaliparambil and  Philipose Mar Theophilose. 

The prayers were led by the Catholicose of the East HH Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose II along with other bishops and sevaral priests. The procession also went as scheduled and there were enough police forces to avoid any unwanted situations.

High Court restrains Patriarch faction from Entering Thrikkunnathu Seminary in Aluva

The Kerala High Court has prevented the Patriarch faction of the Malankara Church from performing any religious ceremonies in St. Mary's Church, Thrikkunnathu Seminary, Aluva, its sepulcher room, and premises.

At the same time, as per the order, the members of the faction may enter the church and its premise as devotees, but not as persons who represent the faction. The faction members shall not cause any hindrance or obstruction to the clergy of the Malankara Church doing any service in the church or its properties.

The court noted that the “order is applicable to everyone from top to bottom in the Patriarch faction. No one other than priests and other spiritual leaders of the Malankara Church, as recognized by the Supreme Court, can do any service and use its premises,” the order said.

14th Memorial Feast of Dr. Philipose Mar Theophilos at Thrikkunnathu Seminary

‎14th Memorial Feast of Dr. Philipose Mar Theophilos (The Ambassador of Indian Orthodox Church) would be conducted at Thrikkunnathu Seminary, Aluva on 2011 Sep 27th and 28th. The feast would be carried out under the leader ship of HH Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, the Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan along with other Bishops and Priest of Malankara Orthodox Church.
 Dr. Philipose Mar Theophilose Metropolitan was born on May 9th, 1911 as the 6th son of Korah and Mariamma of Kallupurakkal, Puthanangadi, Kottayam. He completed his B.A degree from Cochin Maharaja’s College. After that he completed M.A in St.Augustine of Canterbury in England, T.H.M in Cardiff University, UK, and D.D from Harward University in Chicago, USA.

He was ordained as a deacon in 1929, by Vattasseril mar Dionysius Metropolitan and was anointed as a priest in 1944 by His Holiness Baselios Geevarghese II, the Catholicos of the East. On 24 August 1966, at Kolencherry St. Peter’s & St. Paul’s Orthodox Church he was consecrated as Philipose Mar Theophilose Metropolitan by His Holiness Baselios Augen 1st Catholicose and was given charge of the Ankamaly Diocese. He started many new Schools, Orphanages, Hospitals etc and also laid stones for hospitals at Kothamangalam, Chelad, and Pothanicad.

On 1979 February  he also took over the charge of Mumbai Diocese too and established his headquarters near St. Gregorios Church, Chembur in Mumbai before moving out in the  1988 to the present headquarters  at Vashi, Navi Mumbai. He  also translated the Holy Relics of Blessed Alvares mar Julius Metropolitan from the secluded corner of St. Inez Cemetery to the St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Ribander in Goa.

During his life time Philipose Mar Theophilose was known as the Ambassador of the Malankara Orthodox Church. He also  served as the Principal of the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Kottayam and played a major role in revamping the Seminary.

Philipose mar Theophilose had his last breath on 28 September 1997 and was laid to rest in Thrikunnath Seminary, Aluva in Kerala.
